London Moleβs sunglasses, or pretty much anyoneβs sunglasses are not suitable for driving in twilight or at night, and theyβre not suitable for looking directly at the sun. Theyβre also not suitable for protecting your eyes in a sunbed or solaria. And they are definitely no good for protecting your eyes against chemical or mechanical hazards. They are of course great for looking dashing in.
Sunglass lenses should be graded into categories depending on how much protection they offer so when you are investing in new sunglasses you know exactly what youβre getting. The lower the category level the less protection your eyes will have from the sunβs harmful rays, so consider that. Here is an overview of the categories, and you can find the category of our lenses printed on the inside of the temples/side arms.
CAT 0 – Very limited protection from the sun
CAT 1 – Limited protection from the sun
CAT 2 – Good protection from the sun
CAT 3 – High protection from the sun
CAT 4 – VERY high protection from sun
